Comments: Hi
Wondering if you guys could provide some advice. i will be traveling to Vietnam with some friends. This is going to be our fourth trip. But this time we will be heading to Nha Trang. We have never traveled by train. Do you know if there are is a website we can book train tickets to get from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City since I read that you traveled by train the same route?
Thanks and really appreciate if you could help!

Bob's reply: Hi guys Sorry we are away from a computer for the week. There is a station right in town with English speaking counter. We brought our tickets there just the day before our trip on to HCMC. Hope you enjoy Vietnam as much as we did Regards B& J

Comments: Hi Bob and Janette, your blog is quite an interesting reading and very helpful to your fellow travellers especially the cheat sheet. I will also be travelling to SE Asia alone as I can't find anybody to go with. Having said that, I think this will encourage me more to meet people. I have 2 questions for you if you can please help me out.

Comments: Hi Bob & Janette,
I found your very lovely page from Tripadvisor and thought I should really drop a note to tell you how great it looks.
I am planning to stay in Aree Tara next month but could not view the pics from the gallery.
Looking forward to view more of your post and photos xoxo
Bob's reply: Thanks for the lovely comments Xin,
We stayed at the Aree Tara when we were last in Krabi and enjoyed it. Being off season we got a great deal on a poolside room.
Thanks for the reminder about our photo gallery. It has been down for a little while and as I have plans to re-do tthe website it hopefully will get fixed during the revamp.
Cheers

Comments: Hi, firstly thanks for doing this website, i enjoyed reading everything!! Just a few questions as my partner and i are travelling to Thailand in March 11...
1. How much money do we need for 11 days... Staying in Patong, Bangkok and Koh PhiPhi for the trip... Flights and Hotels paid for.
2. Im mostly vegetarian (eat mince) and no seafood, is there much variety for me to eat? How much?
3How much were the tours? What do you recommend?
Bob's reply: Hi Anah, Thanks for the comments. If your budget is tight you still really can manage. Meals can be from as little as a dollar or two if you eat away from the touristy areas. Street food is safe to eat and my only condition is that I want to see it being thrown in to a red hot wok. Drinks can be expensive in bars and hotels, but once again you can economise by buying at 7/11 stores.
Vegetaria n meals are not a problem in Thailand.
I guess fort a budget I would work on about $100 a day and that should cover a few tours, meals and a few drinks. Naturally some of the more expensive tours and shopping will be extra.
Make sure you do a snorkelling tour from Phi Phi. In a shared longtail boat it is quite economical.
